The season came to a glittering end for Bolton S.F.A on the evening of Friday 15th May when our Under 15 side won the G.M.C.S.F.A County Cup with a 3-2 win over Sefton after extra time.

The win marks the first time that our town team has lifted the Under 15 County Cup in over a decade and we had to do it the hard way, with wins over Trafford and national finalists Wirral on the road to glory.

The final was played on the excellent grass pitch at Manchester United’s training ground on Littleton Road.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved, especially Mr Pacey and Mr Thomas from St. Catherine’s Academy who have led this side through thick and thin for three years. To end their tenure as managers with a cup win is no less than they deserve. A presentation night will be arranged soon.

Well done to all players, staff and supporters from each of our three teams this year. As well and the Under 15 success the Under 14’s made a cup final and several of their players were called up for the county squad. The Under 13’s reached the last 16 in the national competition. Overall as superb effort from everyone and a great season for our association.
